Yea Epic 5 is almost here, but I am pissed about being a priest. Yea yea you could say stop whining, but this is my blog :].

Anyway you wana know what pisses the shit out of me when I play priest? Well besides having to heal people and buff people on the fly during a dungeon party, let me tell you my routine for dungeon partys.

First, when I am at the location I buff everyone and pets, each buff is around 200-300 mp and theres 6 buffs for 16 players and pets… Thats more than double my mana I have to consume to make sure everyone is buffed. Of course people will occationally scroll me and i’ll drink my teas and use my damn mana reserves. Next I wait for the party tank to tank a boss, in my case being 110+ its Soul Seeker (ss room). I watch his HP drop and use my Rapid Healing Lv1 to make sure he is Green, ok no problem, I also watch others HP to make sure they also don’t die. Ok… Lets continue.

Ok boss is dead, my ss is popped, lets go in. The room is full of mobs. They all converge on the first person who runs up. I make sure I stay behind as priests have the WORST P.DEF EVER… Ok I heal, heal, sometimes dd when things are dull (some people bring blue pixies). Then heres what makes me mad. I heal one person and I pull 10 mobs, then I die! Guess what IM THE FIRST TO FRIGGIN DIE! Ok why is that such a big deal, for a while I been dping about 1000 times (I am 110+) and im usually first to friggin die and everyone else doesn’t die. Thats the true sign of a good cleric, that no one dies in a dungeon party, but I am starting to get very pissed that I am the only one dying in dungeon parties, people don’t even notice that I am lying there waiting for a bp res, SOMETIMES SOMEONE USES A RES SCROLL WHICH TICKS ME OFF EVEN MORE (using a res scroll will res you but you will NOT regain lost exp, and losing 5% at 110+ is very bad and very hard to recover).

Yea I could buy Fairy Godmother Bottles, but those are expensive (1m a pop) and with ss being at 1.5-2m with my priest cards costing even more than that, I expend more money than others. Right now I have given up on donating chips as I don’t get enough money anymore.

Yea I have been contemplating on swapping to SB, I get 5 pet slots that I can use, I can lv them all rather easily, etc. Prob wouldn’t be fun since I am so used to priest and I only have priest cards, but then again who knows…

I’ll stick to being priest now and actually spend money for the damn fairy bottles, but bleh I just want my 115 +25 evo3 rp.

Yea the Beijing 2008 Olympics started yesterday night, but seems Rappelz will also have their own version of support for the Olympic Games. Wow talk about randomness for a free mmorpg huh. This was first initially reported by the2ndspitter :p.

A post is confirmed by [GM] itoki that we will be having this event upon release of epic 5, here!

My opinions on this event is that the items, (being that they are items), will most likely be a drop event or a cash shop only event. Its a unique event none the less so enjoy! Check out the T-Shirts lol, odd that the heads are misshapen (could be a photoshop job).

Yes say bye to Rappelz Epic 4 and remember all the fond memories you had with it. I really enjoyed seeing how many new features of Epic 4 screwed many players (such as the change in OB status of pets and the skyrocket price of SS! from 200k to 10m to 2m, yea wonderful!)

Here is a more official list of ways to get Epic 5! It consist of three separate ways! Thanks tehlaw!

There will be 3 ways to update to Epic 5.

1. Automatically Updating to Epic 5 with your current Epic 4 Launcher.
2. Manually Patching your current version 1.4.250 client with the Manual Patch found on the Client Download page. (For this step, please make sure your client is v.1.4.250 or it will not work.)
3. Downloading the Full Epic 5 Client from the Client Download page from one of the mirror sites. (Remove any previous versions of Rappelz before installing Epic 5.)

If you update your client to Epic 5 or install the Epic 5 Client prior to the finish of maintenance, there may be errors with skills, pets, and etc. These errors will likely fix themselves after maintenance has been completed.

Players will not be able to use their Epic 5 Beta Clients for the live servers.

Of course updating through the internal patching system is NOT recommended, since its slow and tends to fail. The quickest solution I would recommend is the Manual Patch since its easier if you know how to use it. Otherwise just download the 2gb install file and run epic 5 clean. I already installed epic 5 through a clean installer and surprisingly Epic 5 works in Epic 4 servers! Tells me alot nothing big is dramatic in Epic 5 Part 1, but hey I expected that. Only things that don’t work are the Pet Skill System (which is completely new so of course it can’t read the old data), and the portals to the new dungeon (which are not updates on the Live Servers cause theres a dead wall in Epic 4).

Basically your running Epic 5 visually with the boundaries and conditions of Epic 4. Pretty standard stuff for a server, but tells alot about what the server is doing.

As for me, of course I went scouting to see how the new dungeon looked and its still there! Also I can run into it no problems.

Well this is a tad late, but when I woke up the server was immediately started so I went to playing in the new dungeon first. Heres the news if your interested!

Servers are up for internal testing, we will resume our internal testing of the servers now. 4:20AM PST

We will have an extended server maintenance today as we gear up to launch Epic 5. Expect a much longer down time on the servers, I will keep you updated as much as I can here.

Also as a note, some of you may have inadvertently updated your client to Epic 5 and have logged on only to find that your pet’s jp’s have not been reset. This is due to the fact that Epic 5 has not gone live. This issue should resolve itself once maintenance is finish and the servers come back on-line.
