From a rather odd GMs evil humor (most likely tehlaw) the Rappelz Epic 5 beta is gonna start earlier than intended. Heres the full details taken from the Rappelz Forums.

As a special treat from the Rappelz Team, we have decided to open up the Epic 5 beta test server at 12:00 AM PST, July 31st. A little less than 3 hours from now! Happy Testing!

Well I have been playing Epic 5 for about 2 hours now and since it is a beta there are differences from the live server and the beta server:

- Exp rate is increased 10x the normal rate.
- JP rate is increased 10x the normal rate.
- Lag appears to be nill, even though all 6 servers are crunched into one server and the login servers are taking a beating letting people in.
- GM involvement such as adding items to Auction House (1m tamed angels ftw)

Ok, well my initial reaction to the Epic 5 Beta was ‘OMG OMG OMG’, I partically couldn’t sleep and just went on to see how it was. The beginning was LAME since I had to restart from lv1 without my high level pets or gear. Tedious yes, but I have done enough Trainee Quests to breeze through them in 30 minutes even without pets. Anyway I checked out the Auction House and wow alot of tamed rares! Even though the Korean Beta Test Server had a NPC that sold the pets MUCH cheaper, I had to farm some money for em. I got tired and went to bed at around 4 since I couldn’t fall asleep. Anyway I just played alittle more today and all I have to say is I am BORED. Yea Epic 5 was nice, but without my character theres nothing to test, I am not at all pleased that I have to restart from lv1 and go through 100 levels of hell just to checkout the new dungeon area. I didn’t look there tho, I probablly should.

Anyway some new features I did like were the new NPCs, the gift NPC and the Level helper, the gift NPC obviously gives gifts, but I haven’t found out what gifts it has given yet. The Level helper is supposed to give items that help you level when you start out, but it gave some people cloaks, some people cow suits, some people whips (like me, which is crap), and a bunch of useless items.

I’ll post pictures about the Epic 5 beta some other time. Right now I am waiting in line to get back in lol.

Well I have taken a look at the new dungeon and wow does it look nice.

Only problem is its only one dungeon. Palmir has 2, Lost Mines has 2, Crystal Valley has 2, why does the ‘Temple of the Ancients’ only have one? Guess they were trying to make a softcap for the game around 125. Which is a good idea in my opinion since being at R6 is already insane enough don’t ya think?

Anyway theres only one dungeon with around 9 rooms from what I can see. The dungeons consist of new monsters which are (from what I could see) only 125+. I couldn’t get farther in because I am only lv30 and its remarkable to even get into the dungeon at that level :P. Also the level cap to own this particular dungeon seems to be lv 140. Wow insane.

Enjoy, remember I couldn’t get past the lobby area, I don’t even know if my main (who is 112) can even get past the lobby area, cause the mobs are 125+ XD.

Also extra to note, theres some odd level design in this dungeon, seems rather halfassed to me, but it is a nice sight when you look at it.
