No time for a full post today, sorry. Been spending a lot of the day following
the Second Life Brand Center issue on the various blogs and discussing the potential trademark problems with some other bloggers. I feel like I've thought my way through the legal issues a bit better and hope to write a post exploring them tomorrow.

When I logged in tonight a friend told me I had been quoted in Wagner James Au's recent "New World Notes" post about the trademark-in-a-teapot tempest that is blowing like a lazy hooker through the slogosphere.
Full schoolgirl-lovin' here:
An SL bloggers group has an extended conversation here, and offhand, I tend to agree with Kanomi™ Pikajuna [emphasis & ™ mine!], who says, "A company as

The Request for Clarification from Second Life® Bloggers: Blogger Strike?

In Second Life® Bloggers Require Clarification, Gwyneth makes some valid points on stuff that many bloggers are up in arms about. I write many because yesterday I had about 18 tabs in my browser open and learned the folly of using an ALT 0174 keyboard combination with the num-lock off. I ended up losing the 18 tabs as my browser went home. My apologies if you wrote about it and I didn't link to you, but those 18 tabs are just... dust in the wind. :-(

Strike?

Gwyneth Llewelyn appears to have threatened a content-strike:
Personal note: This blog will enter on strike on April 15th, 2008, for a period of 3 days, if no clarification by Linden Lab is published before that date.
I am considering doing the change from
secondlife.isfullofcrap.com to
firstlife.isfullofcrap.com during the blogger party, but then I pondered
secondlife.reuters.com.
If you follow Reuters' feeds from Jerusalem in Israel, you will find many pro-terrorist and anti-semitic news pieces coming through the editorial process and hitting the wires.
Photographers of Arab and Muslim ethnicity regularly stage photos, report Palestinians blowing themselves up in bombmaking incidents as "eyewitnesses reported a missile strike by IAF jets" when no planes or drones were flying, and so on.
That's not journalism. That's propaganda to benefit terrorists, plain and simple.
Reuters regularly employs stringers with questionable backgrounds at best, associating with the Palestinian journalists association which has clearly stated that its cause is not one of actual reporting and journalism but promoting the so-called Palestinian Cause.
That Cause is founded on terrorism and ultimately the destruction of the State of Israel and its inhabitants. CAMERA and other newswatch organizations (Palestinian Media Watch, for instance) hammer Reuters constantly over this disgusting practice.
In my book, I consider Reuters.com to be no less a disparagement-by-subdomain-association than isfullofcrap.com.
Most folks don't see it that way, of course, but then, most folks are
ignorant.
Wallow in your ignorance, if you must, but I'll stay here in my knowledge.
You know, perhaps I'll flip the domain Sunday after all.
Because, in the end, I don't want to be accused of being like the folks at
Reuters.

As I was getting ready to write this, I punched up Reuters’ Second Life site to see what the latest was from the professionals, if anything. Only I was greeted with — silence. At the best, secondlife.reuters.com is churning without loading a page, or Firefox told me that the domain was “taking too long to respond.” We can interpret this in four ways:
